President Miguel Díaz-Canel will address ETECSA’s new commercial measures on “Desde la Presidencia.” The announcement was disseminated on June 1, 2025, via the president’s official account on X (formerly Twitter).

We have been aware of the opinions, criticisms, and dissatisfaction of our people regarding the measures announced by ETECSA, in light of the urgency to maintain and develop an essential service, currently in a complex situation.
The Revolutionary Government works to provide well-being to the people amidst the most criminal siege. No measure that limits benefits pleases us, and it is our duty to thoroughly explain each step taken to dodge the thrusts of the #Blockade.
Options have been developed for the most vulnerable sectors, including our dear students. We will discuss all these matters in an upcoming episode of Desde la Presidencia.
